When he developed pentosan polysulphate sodium (PPS), Dr Wilhelm Benend set the bar very high for all subsequent research and development projects. Then as now, our overriding priority is to maintain consistently high quality in all processes and at all stages of production. Only then can we achieve our goal: helping sick people.

 

However, the road from the initial idea to the finished pharmaceutical product is a long one. An effective and also well-tolerated pharmaceutical drug can only be developed through conscientious, rigorous and intensive research in all relevant areas. When starting to develop a new drug numerous time-consuming and expensive experiments have to be conducted. At bene we carry out this development work in our own laboratory.
